The Following Are The Meaning
of Flow ERRORS |
|
What Its For? |
The pressure switch purpose is
simple: tell the board whether
its safe to turn on the heater.
How it works is fairly simple.
There are basically two parts to
the switch. First is the part
that reacts to water pressure.
When no or little water pressure
is present, it retracts a
piston. When water pressure is
there, the piston closes the
switch on the second part of the
switch. The second part of the
switch is a micro switch which
is basically a small on/off
switch. When there is pressure
and the piston pushes up and
closes the micro switch, the
switch is "closed". When lack of
or no pressure is there, the
switch is "open". |
|
Why it fails? |
Pressure switch have about a 5
year life. Its a common thing to
fail. If the switch is stuck in
the "closed" position or not
closing when it should, you get
an error. |
|
If you get errors such as solid
FL, FLO, FL2, FLO2 or on DIAL
topsides a blinking light.
Switch is stuck in CLOSED
position. |
|
Might Work: |
Sometimes, as a quick but
temporary fix, you tweak the
switch adjustments. To do so,
turn the adjust wheel 1/2 turn
clockwise. If it doesn't solve
the problem, another 1/2 turn.
Too far and it will come on but
not heat. |
|
Best Solution: |
Replace pressure switch with
quality replacement. |

turn the adjust wheel 1/2 turn
