There are several components
that make up an ozonating
system. First, the ozonator;
either a tube type or CD
type.
Then a small tube runs from
the ozonator to the
plumbing. Since the ozonator
doesn't create pressure, you
need something to suck the
ozonated gas out of the
ozonator, down the tube and
into the plumbing.
Some techs will splice the
ozone gas tube into the
airline and have the jets
naturally suck the gas when
the pumps are on. Problem
with this is you want the
ozone gas entering the spa
on the lowest point you can
get so the gas will bubble
upward and sanitize. Most
Jacuzzi Bath Spas come
"Ozone Ready" so there is
already a unused fitting in
the spa.
Therefore, you run the clear
line from to the ozonator
and plug into the "T"
fitting of the injector. The
injector splices into the
line going to the low ozone
fitting. When the pump is
on, the water passes through
the injector and causes
suction (just like on each
jet) and this pulls the
ozone gas out of the
ozonator and mixes it with
water and that is pushed
into the spa.
One last note, you typically
only install the injector
once. It usually lasts
indefinitely.
