Question: |
Our Answer |
I have a large leak
when I open the air control knob to the left of
the control panel. I've taken some of it apart,
but it looks to be glued on the top. I am not
finding a correct part(s) to replace it with.
|
If the air control
leaks when you turn
the pumps on, it's
NOT the air control
that is at fault but
the jet nozzles
below. To confirm,
remove the screws on
the front of the
nozzle and remove
the nozzle,
retaining ring, and
gasket. Then turn
spa on. If the water
doesn't come up
anymore, you need a
new nozzle. What is
happen instead of
the nozzle causing
suction as it
should, it failing
so water goes UP the
air line instead of
air down.

Our spa has
developed a leak where the hose is glued to the
bottom of the filter housing. It looks like water
is getting through the glue joint. Is there any
way to seal that joint? |
Maybe yes, maybe no.
Most important, does
it leak when the
jets are on HIGH. If
YES, you have to
replace the complete
housing.
If no leave water in
the spa. Buy a small
container of pvc
primer and a can of
fast setting, medium
body glue. Now find
something like a
piece of wood and
wedge the piping on
the very bottom up
so the whole
manifold lifts
toward the filter
box. This is
probably what is
causing the rupture.
The weight of the
piping is pulling
down and broke the
seal. Once lift up,
turn the spa onto
high. Dry the area
completely with a
towel. Liberally
wipe primer on the
area. Then lather a
layer of glue. What
SHOULD be happening
is the primer and
glue is pulled into
the crack and
sealing it. That is
why it stops leaking
when on HIGH: the
system is pulling
air through the
crack and into the
water verses leaking
out the opposite
way. Now you are
putting glue into
the crack and
sealing. Reapply
glue (not primer) in
about 20 minutes and
let the jets run for
30 minutes. When the
the jets go off, the
leak should be
sealed. If so, DONE.
If not, you can try
again but likely you
will have to replace
the filter box.

What kind of glue to
I use on this piping? |
Spas use Schedule 40
pvc piping, either rigid or flex. So you need
standard pvc primer and glue. I like fast setting
glue. Most spas now also use a lot of soft plastic
hoses. With those you use clamps. |

We
need a replacement jet - part #1644000. Where can
we purchase it? |
|
|
I
have a leak. Water seems to be seems to be
seeping between the Lock-Nut (1835000) and the HTC
Jet body (A320XXX). I cannot see any crack. I
recently had the tub serviced and the service
technician may have disturbed the jet causing it
to leak. My question: is the jet likely cracked
or is it more likely that the jet assembly needs
to be resealed with silicon seal. If you suspect
that the jet body is cracked, do you have
replacement jets and what is their cost? |
Could be either.
Easy to tell. Drain
the spa just below
the jet assembly.
Buy a tube of GE's
Silicone II in
clear. On the water
side, dry the area
between the jet
assembly and spa
shell well. Then run
a small bead of
silicon around the
assembly.Run you
finger behind the
bead and press the
silicon to make a
seal.

We
got the spa when we purchased the house in 2001.
The cover over the filter has broken. The part
number of the cover piece I need is 6634000. Is it
still available? Or do I have to purchase the
whole cover assembly and is it available? I thank
you |
Are you talking
about the door with
a fold in it? You
open the door and
slide the filter
in/out?
If so, you replace
the whole frame
which include the
door and frame. The
price is $29 plus $4
handling. If you
wish to order, go to
https://www.clearcreekspas.com/leaks.html.
Scroll down to
bottom of the page.
It's part 2000-045.
It simply snaps off
and snaps in. You
can have water in
the spa when you
replace.
