Why do motors hum? They don't know the words..   Sorry.

Why do motors hum? Old timers sometimes called this "low spot". You turn the motor shaft and the motor would start up. Inspections have shown internal parts have broken. Others it's simple as the startup capacitor. So there are a variety of reasons.

Over the years we have found time and breakdowns cost money. So we adopted the policy of doing what is best for the customer. Therefore when a motor hums, we replace. Some will take the motor to a local motor shop and have them rebuild the motor. That is your decision but we have not found that to be cost effective for us or the customer. The downtime or returning to fix later doesn't make the savings a sound investment for our customer. But you can be the judge of that.

So when a motor hums, we replace the motor and usually the pump and motor complete. There are several items in the pump that have a similar life as the motor and rather again spending time returning to fix we ONLY will install the pump/motor complete in the field. We don't offer individual parts either in the field or over the web.
