Explain Filter Timing?
Electronic
boards have a built in filter cycle. On most Jacuzzi spa
boards, there is a built in default of 2 hours twice a
day. So, when you power up, the board considers that "0"
hour. It will first for the next 2 hours and then 12
hours later, again for 2 hours.
Example: You
turn main power on at 8:30 in the morning. Now 8:30 both
AM and PM, the spa will filter for 2 hours. Note: if
house current ever goes off, it will reset again to
whenever the power is turned on again.
On some
boards you can manually use a jumper to increase the
filter length to 5 hours. Usually, this is not a good
idea.
On Platinum
Series, you can program the board to filter any length
of time using the topside to program the board.
One Note:
Its best to set the filter cycle early AM during the
summer. Spas tend to overheat if the filter cycle is in
mid day.
Also.... very often, customer THINK the spa is running
all the time. They check in when going to work (say 7
am) and when they get home... about the same time. They
THINK it was on all the time. To see if it actually was
one filtering during those times, I suggest turning the
main power off say 10pm. Wait a minute. Turn power on.
The default will be 10-12 am/pm. If the spa IS on when
you check those other times and its NOT heating, then
you likely DO have a board failure problem.
